Was considering buying this for the wife is the frame gonna be too big at 16'' for her at 5'6''
She says that she feels comfortable on my Cannondale and thats 17'' looking at the geometry on the M/F Giant bikes the mans 16'' is equivalent to a Womans 18'' by the looks of it

Women tend to have long legs so require shorter top tubes and higher bars for a given seat hight. Your best to get her on the bike or a equivalent size model as every bike tends to be measured slightly differently.0

Sounds like a fair swap

Only way to be sure is to try before she buys. I think she should be fine with a 16" women's, certainly - I'm 5ft 2, and tend to be most comfortable on 14" - 16" frames - both women-specific and bloke's models. It really does depend on the make, model (and year) of the bike.
Incidentally, what bike are you thinking of getting her? You didn't say! :P0 -
I meant to paste the link

For the money it looks a good little bike and should handle what she throws at it with ease0 -
That is what my girl friend had and is a similar hight. Well the year before model. She did require ask for a shorter stem and hated the saddle but apart from that it was fine.0

Will order a charge ladle seat when I order the bike, I use WTB Rocket V saddles anyway so it will get a good home.
Hopefully gonna lay the money down on it this weekend even if she does'nt use it all that often I will be able to get some use out of it myself as I prefer a smaller frame :twisted:0
