Handy that Just in time for him to drop off the top of the Poggio again in 2010. Given that Sella was given a year for being a grass i can see why he felt hard done by. Ricco has a big problem in that most folk and fellow riders think he was a dick and didnt like him at all so he will struggle for any support when he comes back where as Basso seems to be Mr Popular and has fitted back in like a glove.

Now is the time for Riccardo to start a blog, to talk to some PR people, to register for a Twitter account and launch the PR campaign.

Basso though had the advantage of being busted on the sly, for an "attempt" and not in the middle of the Tour de France. Ricco had influence the race and won two stages and gifted another to his partner in crime Piepoli before he was carted away in front of the TV cameras.

damn...I was hoping he would be kept out longer...Basso has missed 3 TDFs, a few Vuelta opportunities and the 07, 08 Giros....that's hell of a costly considering they were prime years for him 28-30 years old...Ricco being younger...its nothing much...imagine listening to him talking about clean cycling

Just about right. You have to give even him, sometime off for grassing, otherwise there's absolutely no incentive to talk.

Now, what we really need is for Vino to ask for 6 months off to turn canary!

  • I imagine Vino to be like Johnny Tightlips in the Simpsons... He's old school.

    "Johnny where are you hit?"

    "I ain't saying nuttin'"

"What shall I tell the Doc?"

"Tell him to go suck a lemon"

The Court of Arbitration for Sport partially upheld his appeal on the grounds of his "active cooperation" when he explained that Leonardo Piepoli also took CERA last year

Sung like a canary then
