Firstly hello to everyone
it`s my first post here but ve been reading forum for a while.
I`m looking for a hardtail max 600 pounds that`s the max can spend as ctowork is not an option for me
what`s your opinion on trek 6300 the 2008 model that`s the one i can get for around 600 in my local store ( Cambridge )
every opinion would be valuable appreciatte any comments or different options to consider, but there`s no big store in cambridge with a large variety of hardtails around that price range
im planning to use the bike to commute to work and on days off travel outside cambridge in a search of a bit more rough terrains
thanks for any help

Previously owned an 08 Trek6000 with Discs. Good bike for the money. For what your planning to use it for commuting and some light trail work, it will cope very well. The tyres from memory are dual compound, so OK for road work. Forks with lockout will be useful for road and climbing.....what else can I say....buy it before you have to buy a more expensive 09. Make sure you get the right frame size and don't just buy it because it is an 08.If you don't fall off, you're NOT trying hard enough!0 -
One of my friends bought this bike a few weeks ago, he's not had chance to take it off road properly yet (hopefully this weekend) so i'll let you know how he gets on. For the little he has rode it tho he's more than happy with itGiant - https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/334272_10151115280715087_1148897730_o.jpg0

Hi,
I have just bought the Trek 6300 (2009) £675 on the cycle to work scheme depending on your salary you could pay alot less for me around £420.
The cycle to work scheme is worth looking at if you can gat your employer to look into signing up.
