I am currently a member of CTC and have just had a renewal today for £36. I also saw on the Everyday Cycling website membership for £24 for the year.

They both seem to offer similar third party liability insurance and similar benefits.

I commute to work which is a 26mile round trip, cycle for pleasure and also do two or three cyclosportives a year.

What is the best one to join and why is CTC £12 a year more expensive.

I am sure there are some simple points but I would appreciate the advice.

No idea why CTC are £12 a year more. There's a thread on their forum at the mo with some unhappy peeps who've had their membership renewals messed up by CTC and don't seem to be getting very far sorting it out. Might be worth you checking it out before you sign up for another year. Alternatively if you live in, near or even if you don't, you could join the London Cycling Campaign who also do third party insurance included in membership as well. Not sure what their membership fee is, although you can Goggle them.
