Bike Insurance

Hi, Last night someone tried to steal my bike. Came to it this morning and the lock had been half cut through (guessing luckly they were disturbed or something similar). Made me think that I should insure it really. Been looking around and all I seem to find is new for old deals. Is there a company that still covers against a specific cost? Its a pretty old frame but has been updated quite a bit. New for old I just feel like I would end up being ripped off. Cheers for any help.

Rich

I've Halifax house and contents insurance and the bike cover is unlimited provided you have it secure at all times.

New for old shouldn't leave you out of pocket...you should get the same again, including parts, or the equal if it's no longer made.

So if you had a top of the range Trek and it cost you £2k then if it's nicked you don't get £2k you get the current top of the range...or at least that's how it worked for me and a camera I got nicked.
