Hand Comfort

In my quest for hand comfort I think I have now gone too far.
I have put on Fizik gel and Cinelli geal tape on anatomical bars AND wore Spesh Gel gloves at the weekend.
38 miles and nearly two days later my right hand still aches!! Oddly my left hand was fine all though the ride.
Have I gone too far with the padding and is it like saddles where you end up sinking into the padding (gel) and compress the nerves & blood vessels even more?

Cobbles are all very well but I'd rather be riding towards the South of France

with all that clobber it sounds like a bike setup problem - either the bike isn't the right size or you need to try other kinds of bar setup. There are other things in the world than drops....Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0

Might be a strange question, but I'll go with it: do you use a mouse with your right hand? It *could* be that you've developed carpal tunnel syndrome. I've had it in the past, and simply switched using the mouse to my left hand and continued riding. Within a few weeks the pain had cleared up.0
