Somewhere near Pecket Well is reported to be a set of zig-zags or descent of some sort. Comes out near Hardcastle Crags car park. Had a look yesterday, but couldn't find the top of anything that looked promising.

Anyone know just where these are, and how to get onto them?

    Here you go...

The first bit is VERY steep and drops down to a stream. Take the RH fork, despite the signage to the contrary.

This runs along the valley side for a bit below a monument like a smaller version of Stoodley Pike, before becoming steep and cobbled again. It spits you out about 200 yards below the car park at Hardcastle Crags.

  • Ah, cheers for that. I was looking at the top of the piccie at various tracks round there. I'd spent a large part of the day pushing across stuff that even the redsocks seem to ignore, so I decided that none of what I looked at was what I wanted, and turned off at the junction just above the bridleway. Have to go back in a couple of weeks for a looksee. Thanks.
