Hi,

I'm planning on touring France this summer, and on our last training ride it got very dark and I realised my current light just won't cut it.

As I don't want to spend more than £20 I was wondering if you think it'd be better to get a Cateye front light off eBay (maybe a 520), or get an LED torch and one of those adapter mounts, as that might be brighter than the Cateye at that price?

Anyone got any idea how many (approx) lumens the Cateye 520 produces? Would this 200 lumens (or so they claim - other sites have the same model closer to 120L) CREE torch be brighter:

Or any other suggestions?

Thanks very much.

do a search on the tesco torches circa £8 plus £5 for a clamp.

I have just bought a P7 torch for £40 inc spares etc and it is perfect for on or off road
