shimano 105 brake problem

ive just replaced my new standard brakes on my trek 1.5 with shimano 105 5600 brakes but the cable ends on the trek 1.5 outer cable will not fit in the quick release mountings as the end caps are too big are the 105 cable ends smaller then the standard 1.5 outer cable

Take off the end caps.
