Hi, building a 3 speed ATB for hill access in Scotland and cannot get this lever (xt) and front mech. (deore) to work together. Are there compatibility issues between mixed parts ?
If this is the case which front mech should I buy, bearing in mind since its my fourth bike I want to keep the cost to a minimum. Thanks.

no issues."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

What chainset do you have? May be some issues with that.
But the shifter and mech none at all.0 -
chainset is lx square taper M569. The lever seems to move the mech too far over in one sweep. This happens no matter how I set up the stops etc.0

cable connection on the wrong side of the bolt?
all shimano front mechs work with all shimano shifters ( MTB in both cases) as do all Sram front shifters
Shimano front shifters also work with Sram front mechs.
what you have is 100% compatible.
Maybe an installation problem."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Going back to before, the H stop has no bearing on how far the mech moves for a given cable pull: it does stop it moving past a point though.0
