Road Users From Hell.....

General Carnage?
Delivery Drivers.
Why?
They park Anywhere regardless of what the road conditions are.
Examples:
Local Shop in the village, on a corner, where does the SPAR lorry park? ON the corner (ok so the locals park there too when going to the shops but...)
Shop at my bus stop in town, Shops there, where do the delivery drivers park? In the bus stop.
I wouldn't put it past a delivery driver to park perpendicular to the road just to get their goods into the shop easier.Do Nellyphants count?
Commuter: FCN 9
Cheapo Roadie: FCN 5
Off Road: FCN 11

When you're learning how to drive, how much are you taught about cyclists/motorcyclists and awareness of your responsibility to these vulnerable road users?
Because it doesn't seem enough. I think that the best wy to improve safety on our roads is to inform drivers of their duty towards cyclists, and what it means to be vulnerable on th road.
I don't think that learner drivers are being taught about awareness of cyclists at all...if anything I think the opposite.
Example; riding on the road the other day (I was doing about 20+mph as it was a downhill section of my commute) a leaner driver was waiting in a side street to the right of me. Waited till I was a few meters from the turning and pulled infront of me with the instructor jestering to the learner the whole time (I'm pretty sure the instructor at least saw me). Wasn't too bad (i.e. I had time to brake) but had to reduce my speed significantly as not to undertake the car (wasn't sure what they were going to do next). Surely this would give the impression to the learner that pulling in front of a cyclist is ok especially if their instructor sees nothing wrong with it!0 -

Learners arent taught about motorbikes either though. And its often as bad when they get hit.. infact more die than our little road group.
I was listening to the radio at work yesterday and there was a cheerful ad. "Have you ever reread a book because you didnt read a chapter properly.. have you ever done etc etc" until it asks have you ever pulled out of a junction without taking the time to check. BANG!
It could so easily been my story. Or any number of ours here. Drivers need to have it installed firm in the learning process that taking the time to make a decision is the right thing to do. It becomes a bad habit even we can be naughty of.0 -

wasn't when i passed but like ideas of say mandatory motorways training this rather assumes one lives where one has access to motorways/cyclists where i learnt to drive it's a fair trek to the nearest motorway and bikes on road are fairly rare, most are MTB's and used on the lumpy boggy bits...0 -
On the assumption the OP meant
"who causes most carnage on roads" - that being "carnage to cyclists", cos statistically it must be cars, cos they are most numerous, I voted "peds".
They are who I fear most.
Everyone else is a road user in the true sense and we all play by the same rules (ok play probably aint the right word but hey..). Peds just cross em.
I have been knocked off by WVM, but I can believe that blind spot etc etc and my cavalier attitude was influential in what happened.
Peds simply need to get over the road as fast as possible, the rest of us have to stay on it. They play by different rules. I work in Euston/Warren Street and the amount of grief cyclists give the peds down there RLJing etc (I have even been angry of Euston as a ped at times) it must encourage a f*ck it attitude towards cyclists.
Its a numbers game, do anything long enough and that what you don't want to happen will.
I'm glad my name wasn't in the list, but there may have been a morning or so in the last 3 years where it could have been. For my moments of indescretion - I am truly sorry
