After hours trawling the internet for reviews and ratings and sellers last night (why are the best ones always discontinued?) I've settled on Giordana Tenax as my next pair of bib shorts, but I'm not sure on what size to get. I'm 6'1" and 32-33" waist, for "normal" clothes I'm size L. Giordana's sizing charts imply I'm size XL, but from reviews of people not much smaller than me I'm thinking it may even be XXL for me.

Some reviews said although the bibs are tight when standing up, they're fine when leaning forwards on the bike, but I'd prefer a bit of comfort for standing up too. Anyone got a pair of these, how do you find the sizing/fit?

I am 6'0" and wear the XXL.

I have a long body and short legs and only just fit so at your height if you have a more balanced bodyshape than mine you should be OK with XXL.

I am however one of the people who does not find these massively comfortable. The pad position does not put my sit bones over the thickest part of the pad so after about 30 mins I am regularly trying to adjust the position.

I'm 6ft though with a longer back and I found the XXXL the best fit. I initially got the XXL and took them back.

    Great shorts though

I'm about your size (6'1" and 34" waist) and the XXL couldn't fit any better.

Thanks for the advice all. Don't suppose anyone knows of anywhere in/near Liverpool that sells them? I'd rather try before I buy but if it comes to buying online I suppose I could buy 2 sizes and send the "wrong" size back.

    Iain,

It depends on your definition of 'near' Liverpool is.
I know that Ribble stock them, but ring the shop first to make sure they have them there rather than in the warehouse only

I got mine off Ribble. Excellent service.

I'm no more than 5ft 9 and XL is perfect. Don't get them undersized otherwise your knuckles will be dragging on the floor when you walk. Italian sizing is reknown for being on the small side.
