Hi everyone

A friend of mine new to cycling has his heart set on a cyclocross bike for a mixture of gravel/mud tracks and roads on his commute.

I don't know much about this types of bike, so i would really appreciate some ideas in the £600-700 bracket.

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers

Wil

He really needs a bit more to start seeing the entry models, although wiggle have the Kona jake and evans have the binachi D2 in the price bracket. 850 would really open up the options, with the entry level focus, the specialised tricrosses (entry geared rather than fgss!!!) and the kaffenback from planet-x
  • I picked up a kona jake the snake from evans in their sale for just over £700 last year for exactly this sort of thing. very happy with it so far, though in hindsight I'd have gone for the triple option, owing to regular use of full panniers and chiltern hills on my commute.
