My hack bike needs a new back brake as the springs on the current set up have given up the ghost.

Can anyone suggest/link a suitable replacement - the bike's a 96 GT Talera.

I've been toying with the idea of dumping a DM-UNI adaptor onto the drop outs and throwing a disc brake from my bucket o' bits

Hi, I replied in the MTB Tech thread you posted but it seems to have gone missing?

The best U-Brake I've had on my BMX is an Oddyssee Evolver, never had faith in a BMX brake until I got one of these. The price is a bit steep tho for a hack bike but check the folowing link for a few options.

The Primo one at £20 looks decent, and if you want to spend a bit less then the Tektro FX20 is the one.
