First ride out on the good bike this year and what a joyous 17 miles they were. 8)

Hadn't thought of ditching the hack yet really. I was passed by a bloke on a lovely Olympic edition Cervelo S3 on a recovery ride last Thursday and that planted a seed.
A crap few days ensued but some rain had helped clear the roads of weeks of salt/grit abuse.

It was a beautiful morning up here so I thought sod it. Quickly swapped out the DTs for Open Pave Evo CG shod Racing 3s and headed for the door. What a revelation.

Is this a common sensation or do I need to seek help?

Nope - I am sure you are NOT alone. I for one am just about to get the Bianchi off its hook and give it some TLC before a w/e ride: the roads are a lot less salty now.
For me, a ride in the sun WITHOUT all the winter gear on is worth its weight in new tyres.

I am even starting commuting (on the winter bike...) again!

Yup it's completely different. I also hadn't realised how much easier shorts are than bib tights. Unfortunately the chain slipped and crunched so the better bike is out of commision until i sort it :x

Been out a couple of times on the good bike... Always come home with a big smile.
It's nice riding in the sunshine rather than getting soaked to the skin

I have had a couple of good rides recently , but have gone back to wearing longs after some red leg rides in shorts

First outing today for the roadie.
Flat pedals and baggy shorts though. I'm not concerned about workmates ripping the p155 about the lycra but I still have the riding and getting 'wood' problem

What you need is a saddle like mine; completely cuts off all circulation and nerves to the old man after 5 miles. Unless by wood you mean something matchstick sized...
