Thinking about doing the 50, trying to find out the 50 route0
-
I'm thinking of entering the 100 miler. Did a recci of the first 15 miles yesterday. Couple of tough climbs in the first 5 miles, but managed to haul myself up both of them. Did The Struggle last weekend which covered much of the remainder of the route, so know what to expect. Going to be a challenge, but very satisfying if I can get under 8 hours.
According to the website not many entries so far

Don't fancy spending 8 hours cycling alone and listening to my ipod again!!!!!0 -
Where's the start pont/finish for this ?0

Quite fancied this , spent some time speaking to the promoter a few months ago . If im honest I meant to sign up but its kinda crept up on me sooner than i though it was .
feel a bit bad that its people like me dragging their heels that has resulted in such a low entry list ..
thing is would entering now just " swell " the numbers by one and result in a solitary training ride or do people think there will be a surge of interest on the day .
sitting on the fence ( as opposed to bike ! ) here aren't I ?0 -
Start and finish point is Horwich Leisure Centre0

apparently there are 50+ names registered , Its only local so i may just show up at half 9 pay the £16 and get pedalling .0

any joy with the 50 route ? not got time to prep for 100 with work commitments over the weekend , but will do the 50 if there is more people doing it .
think there is a list of 50 at the mo .
any body else doing it ?0 -
would just like to thank the organisers of this event today ( Sun 14th ) , for their first sportive i think they had a cracking route and well organised .
Myself and several others had a bit of blip with directions at one point but it was quickly figured out and these things happen .
not a massive amount compared to other rides, but i think the 130 ish figure is great considering this was a very an event that was not featured in the list of rides .
hopefully they will run it again next year and if anybody in the North West area fancies an interesting route mixed with some good climbs and rolling roads this could turn out to be a winner.
had a great day , good camaraderie between those taking part ...and best of all

Hi All
Just a quick note to let you all know that the Rivington 100 will be going ahead again this year.
The date is 13th June 2010 and will start and finish at Horwich Leisure Centre in Bolton. There will be a 100 mile and 52 mile option for riders.
Last year was our first time running this event and we had an amazing 120+ riders so we are hoping for an even bigger turn out this year.
For more details please contact me on charlotte.nash@blgc.co.uk
Many thanks
