What's it worth?

A mate has a 3 year old steel De Rosa in Eddy Merckx colours with full carbon Campag Chorus and Bontrager Race X Lite components in 57cm. The frame has a small ding in the top tube and a scratch in the NDS chainstay but other than that it's in not bad condition at all.

Any idea of a value for this?

That's a classy piece of kit and would attract a decent price if sold used, unlike many of today's over-priced Chinese jobs that suffer from sky-rocket depreciation as soon as you leave the shop - the naff Bonty parts do diminish it's value to an enthusiast. Your mate should be castigated for bike neglect too! I'd estimate about 50-60% of the retail value - more if it was mint, but an afficianado would factor in the cost of a replacement tube and a respray to return it to mint condition! He might realise more by selling the frame and parts seperately.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

He's actually really anal about his bike care, and is selling it purely because of the ding!

I love it, it's the best fitting bike I've ever ridden and it's silly how nice it is to ride.
