Hi, i am fairly new to this MTB lark and am looking to buy a XC full suss bike. as i will get more bike for the my money (looking to spend £500 ish) buying secondhand. But there are so many bikes, what do i get?? I have already made a cock up about a year a when i bought a Kona Coiler on Ebay as i, shortly afterward , realised this is a downhill bike. i like the look of Treks and Specilaised but can anyone suggest what my options maybe at this price range?

Secondly i live in Worcestershire and am looking for a place to spend a weekend riding within a bout an hours drive from where i live (B98), somewhere with great marked trails and camping near by.

You oppinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

P.S. Does anyone want to buy a 05 Coiler.

You will be very lucky to find a decent full suspension bike for sensible money, especially on ebay. Also factor in that a full suss bike might need a rear shock service, and bushes/pivots serviced, which could be more than £100.
Speciailzed FSRs and the like always seem to command a premium, even older ones on ebay.Might be better to consider something like a Giant Trance as these are every bit as good but don`t seem to demand such a high price secondhand, but you`ll struggle to get a good one for this money.

Something like this might be a safer bet, than buying used:http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m1b0s1p1748
Its getting hard enough to find decent hardtails for £500,but there are some nice ones around.Personally given your budget I`d be looking at a nice hardtail like this, and wait for the full susser until you can afford to spend £1k or more.
