Good news for competitive cycling.
Basso is to ride the LBL, which means he's had a "green card" from the ASO.
Expect to see him riding the Tour, which must be a boost to all cycling fans, not
wanting to see a one-sided procession. :)

    Yep, has it all here.

And a couple of stories down the page his young Liquigas team-mate is busted by the cops. Still time for ASO to change their minds.

Hasn't he already committed not to do the Tour?

I mean, I'd like to see him at the Tour but if I were him I'd skip it this year. Make some noise about wanting to give it some time to allow the Tour organisers to trust him more etc etc.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.

Yes and he's still saying no Tour, but perhaps he's taken a leaf out of LA's book?

Muscles for Drugs might intervene - seems quite a widespread doping ring.

    Interesting news about Basso, though

He's done his two years, so there is no reason to bar him from the race.

    What were you expecting?

Is the drugs-in-gyms thing in relation to Operazione Athena? Both Luca Paolini (a Liquigas rider at the time) and Basso's hot sister had their houses raided by the Italian police because of that a couple of years ago.

ASO have made noises about him not being welcome again. But I think the public relations exercise he's launched is paying dividends.

Am warming to the guy a bit more now..anyone see his shocked face at the Kimmage q and q with Lance A...funny..as was vandevelde's eyes looking skyward.. Basso could be clean...infact, I think right now Millar is a pretty good bench mark of a clean rider, 7th in Paris Nice at the moment...Basso clean could be similar
