me again
Asked bit ago about Coed LLandegla, but is there anything else in the same region?
I've been watching a few youtube vids and (even the black) seems pretty tame. Hardly worth the 5hr drive home to ride with my bro.
Cheers

All of the trail centre routes in N. Wales are a bit tame- CL is smooth fast flowy and jumpy. Penmachno is very XC singletrack- but the last few sections when it points down are fantastic. Marin trail has a fair bit of fireroad andis a more natural feeling XC place is I think pretty decent.... But for 5hrs driving... Nah, better off doing something else? C-Y-B much more challenging and possibly less of a drive for you (assuming you're coming from darn sarf?) My fave riding spot tho would be Peak district- from pretty tame XC stuff right through to full on downhill in the same ride, cant be beat for my money- no trail centres tho' its all natural.....0

ahh nm basically i'm coming from london, dropping the GF off in Chester to see her mates, and continuing to b.pool to get home.
them my bro was gonna hitch our bikes on his car and take us somewhere not too far away.
I wanted to do wharncliffe, but my "younger" bro is coming too and he really doesn't have a suitable bike0 -
There is XC in Wharny as well.... Dunno myself on that one tho' going for the first time with a couple of mates who live that way on Sunday.
If you are at Blackpool, not be better to keep going up to the Lakes?0 -
Possibly, done North Face loads and Whinlatter a few... wanna try something different
Not sure what else there is in the lakes :?0 -
Yea, I wouldn't mind a bit of "find your own trail" but I doubt my bro's will be too willing
oh well, looks like we'll do Coed (twice maybe?!). Tis kinda more about seeing my Bro's and getting them out riding more than anything0 -

Arh it seems I have found the answer to my own question in this very thread.
I'm booked in to stay near Brenin next weekend with some friends. We are going to be going to Brenin on the Saturday and then driving up to do the Marin on the Sunday.
Which of the Brenin trails is the best? Best for someone that enjoys the new Whinlatter and Penmachno that is ???0 -
Dunno, the Tarw(under the bull horns) trail is nice- not too challenging bit a bit short. But it is nice and quiet as most people do the other trails.(Under the forks)
Of them, MBR is a great trail, best to look at the maps tho- available from:

Long time since I've been TBH so things may have improved/ got worse... But it is fun!
I'm just spoiled with the Peak district being an hour away compared to a near 3 hr drive to get to CYB.0 -

There's everything in the Lakes. So much that you'll be hard pressed to take everything in even if you spent a week there. Give us some idea of what you want and some routes will follow. Won 't be on man made trails through man made forests though.Frank Yates0 -

Sheesh, what isn't there in the Lakes?
There's everything from gentle XC pottering to full-on, hairy-arsed screaming for mummy high mountain crossings - what do you fancy??
Give me a shout if you're going, I know loads and I'm always up for a day out.0 -
I feel a meet coming on.Frank Yates0
