Trek Madone 6.2 - 20009 review..
This is one incredible bike….
Had a Specialized Allez Sport before and always was aching from going up Highgate West Hill needed pain killers and tranqs and just to calm the body pain down. Good to learn, but wanted to move up to the big boy league….
The Madone is very, very fast and very responsive a lovely ride.. The saddle was a bit nasty so bought a specialized and fitted it with carbon keos.. A dream to ride like the new Audi R8…
I had two frames…The first Madone frame the right stay broke by the chain.. The second frame’s bracket was rubbed by the crank…..
Both frames were changed by Trek no problem and expedited and supported by my lovely shop Jason at Shorter Rochford in North Finchley who gave me a lovely deal!..
I cant wait to take this bike to the Alps with by Garmin 705 and Alan Bike Box..
Great money spent a real flier! Better than any car… :P
:P :P :P :P :P :P

You get two warranty replacements and you come back for more!Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Sounds like you're enjoying it! However, one faulty frame sounds like bad luck. Two faulty frames sounds a lot more like bad design and/or manufacture. I don't think I'd be raving about it quite the same!0

Do Trek do a Madone 6.2?0
-
I forgot what I bought , - it is a 5.2 not 6.2 not showing off just a slip of 1.0 :?0

As they say in the Marathon man is it safe???
I think it is, but then again I do not know what model number my bike is???
Terrible things can do wrong..., but I have tested it on descents on Highgate West Hill and Swains Lane in London - so in a way it has been pre-tested...
Thanks, Mr Airwave still do not know how to post the pics... :?:  :oops:0 -

I have now gone round the regents park as it is summer.. I do 5-10 laps (2.78miles per lap) flat. This bike is a real flier.... Unbelievable... In a sprint I am taking down the skinny cyclists on their Hoxton Trendy bikes, I make them suffer on their fixed gear trendy machines.. I could never do that on my specialized i am too heavy..
I love the braking, the comfort (very little soreness in neck, shoulders and back) next day, the handling....
No matter how bad/ rotten/ de-motivated at the start of the ride I am this bike lifts me up to the Greats up the Mortirolo..!
Highly recommended 9.8 out of 10 - BRAVO TREK 8) :P :idea:0 -
The 5.2 madone is indeed a good blend of comfort, weight and responsiveness. It is virtually identical to the 2008 model apart from the now replaceable rear derailer hangar. Any review of the '08 model will apply to this one, and that generally got good reviews.
The drawbacks are relatively minor - the included saddle is rather uncomfortable, and the integrated seatpost means many persons like myself will have the added expense of purchasing the longer seatmast. I myself had problems with a noisy BB - this stopped after the mechanic regreased the BB bearings. I don't know if this could be related to the integrated BB shell.
These problems may or may not be isolated but Trek generally have very good customer service, and any problems are sorted fairly quickly if they do arise. Overall - this is one of the nicest bikes I've ridden out of the 'sportive' models I've demoed at the £2k mark.0 -
So far Trek have been velly velly good. I am actually glad I bought the bike from a large manufacturer so there is back up rather some esoteric manufacturer abroad.
