Tyre sizes

Looking to buy some Bonty Mud X tyres as they get rave reviews. But what size- 1.8 or 2 or combo. I'm looking to ride fast-ish in classic Cornish conditions (for those who don't know this means knee deep sticky mud next to hard packed trails). Also doing a bit of Fun racing - Soggy Bottom this weekend.
