Speedplay Zeros

Hello, I'm thinking of upgrading my Look Keo Classic pedals to some Speedplay Zeros and would like a little advice please.
The price for the cromoly version is £78 on Wiggle and for the stainless steel it's £109. What is the difference between these two? According to Speedplay's website there's only a 4g weight saving, so what are the other benefits of SS over cromoly?
Thanks for your help.

i've got speedplay cromoly zeros on all of my bikes. I love them, changed over from look to speedplay and have never regretted it.
I've never had a problem with rust on mine, just remember to grease the axles once a year and they've worked fine.0 -
I weigh around 95 kilos and in 10 yrs have never had a problem with my stainless speedplays. They're very sturdy.0

I've got both on my winter bike and best bike respectively. The cromo version have acquired a little rust around the axle where it meets the pedal body but I'm sure this is mainly down to the fact that my winter bike doesn't get anywhere near the maintenance that my best bike does. Both pedals are great and I would be very reluctant to switch to any other system. The only downside with Zero's is the cost of replacement cleats but I've only replaced them once in two and a half years, and that was because I was switching to different shoes.0

k you dont have to tell us...4 times. yea i have cromo ones too, i wonder if its possible to paint over the spindle where the black has come off. takes awhile to get used to connecting cleat to pedal (to my knowledge ive found it had nothing to do with how tight the screws were, its more like the retention would be stiff when its new). as i had been using spd for long enough.0

I have chromoly and no rust after 7 months. I think it depends if you want black or silver spindles. Make sure you grease the threads well.Pegoretti

Thanks for all your replies. Looks like Chromoly is the way to go then. I don't ride very often in the rain and I also clean my bike quite regularly, so hopefully will avoid any rusting. And I'll have an extra £30 to put to my next toy - just need to decide what it's going to be!0

Apolgies for the 4 replies - a combination of a non responsive computer and being trigger happy with the submit button.0
