This is a first for me - a group of 'youths' decided it would be great fun to throw bricks (I mean house bricks, not just big stones) at me from some waste ground as I cycled past. Luckily only one hit my leg and none hit the bike (it's carbon fibre and is not as readily repairable as my leg).

So I've got two large gouges on the side of my leg, I informed the police who 'will look into the matter'. I guess I was lucky - if anyone out there regularly cycles along Queensway, Brandhall in the deepest Black Country, be careful.

Let's hope they haven't caught anything nasty from the waste ground. Like leprosy.

  • That's shocking. It's assault, pure and simple. Keep on to the rozzers.

Are you sure they weren't middle class kids?

had a similar incident last week with chavs chucking lumps of wood. I alerted a patrol car just up the road who assured me they would be picking them up.

Like JT says, report it to the police, it won't be an isolated incident and that way if anything more serious happens there's a history of incidents they can use against the perpetrators.

I did report it and got an incident number from them - the officer assigned to my complaint is going to call me today. Hopefully they caught the little b*stards.

And no, they weren't middle class (Always Tyred you've obviously never been to Brandhall...)

I'm happy to report that the police picked up all 6 toe rags responsible. Apparently there had been a number of complaints (one guy got hit on the head, someone else had their car damaged). The only down side is that as none of them were over 16 so it won't be too long before they're back on the street looking for another way to p*ss people off.

If the police know who they are surely you can now start legal action against them for assault?

This is getting out of hand. The police seem to be finding one excuse after another not to fight any sort of crime.
Is it too much to ask that the police line up these 6 scumbags and give Massimo a wheelbarrow full of bricks. Maybe, they just might learn from such an experience. Instead, the lesson they've learned is that the police can't touch them but will surely come after us if we were to try and defend ourselves.
The police may as well have been throwing the bricks themselves.

Probably not the most PC thing to say but I'm liking the wheelbarrow full of bricks idea...

To me, massimo's post reads that they were picked up by the Police but as they're under 16 it's very unllikely they'l be in the nick for long. Why start ranting at the Police?

Massimo, I hope you're not too badly injured mate. Have you heard about CICA? You could probaly get some compensation for an unprovoked attack like that.
