Not quite summer, but my g/f and I are booked for a self-guided tour of Tuscany/Chianti in April, ending with a 3 day stay in Florence. My g/f is fairly new to cycling so is not so keen on full blown touring with camping gear etc, so we are using "Hooked on Cycling". They book all the accommodation, provide itinerary and maps, and they have a van to transport luggage to each overnight stop; we take our own bikes (wasn't keen to use one of their hire bikes). We are quite excited, hoping for good weather!

Dont forget your video camera, you could get Battle at Kruger II :P

I have been invited to bring my bike to Keswick (or Cockermouth, cant remember which now) in Cumbria for the Summer by a Roadie Mate who moved back up there :P .
  • The last sequence is in China, not Montana. Imagine the litigation potential if it were in the USA... In China, if you fall then it's your bad luck.

After a few "action" holidays recently we're going for a chill out tourist holiday somewhere warm this summer. We quite like the look of Croatia at the moment, but I'll be happy anywhere Med based really.

I very much doubt I'll be leaving the country this year. It'll be the first time since 2002 I've missed a holiday.

    Damned recession

Southern Brittany with my huge tent ,wife, kids and bike.
£300 including channel tunnel for 10 days, hows that for a recession beater.

  • Seriously thinking about flying to Gibraltar for 3 days, ferry to Tangier, over night train to Marrakech, 3 days there, fly home.
Mrs C is a bit apprehensive about the train part.

I've just booked flights for my girlfriend and I to go to Croatia in September. Taking the bikes and going from Dubrovnik to Split along the coast and the islands. Really looking forward.

Totally off topic but, my girlfiend got her bike stolen today and was heartbroken!

Oh what a let down. Even the one that isn't obviously faked , turns out not to be what it purports to be. Just goes to show you can't necessarily trust what you find on the Internet !

Just had a week in Mallorca with 'the boys' riding my ass off.
Going to Barcelona for a week in May with Mrs V - it's our spring break - the main holiday will be in October after the racing is over, Treating Mrs V to a nice Nile cruise - going for the all inclusive option as it was only £40 extra pp...
