Anyone ever used these?

A bit on the pricey side ( ), but I'm considering them for my trip to the cobbles of Flanders next month and wondered whether they might be ok for the commute too.

They'll cut to shreds if you ride over lots of glass. I'm not sure they're the best for riding in a city...

Cheers. Think I'll stick with Gatorskins then.

Why will they cut to shreds?

I reckon you should get them, Ceej. You want to look the part, right :)

The review refers to them cutting up.

Getting all Jash for a moment though, I don't think they'll go with eh Scott's colour scheme.

They are race tyres, with a carcass a hell of a lot thinner than something like a Gp4000 or Michelin pro race.

They are a very nice tyre, and a good choice for Flanders, but I doubt they'd last very long somewhere dodgy like London. I've got some open corsas which I use in north Wales, and I wouldn't fancy using them in Manchester with all the glass - they got a large cut within a 100miles of riding where there is little glass....

I've got a pair sitting in the garage waiting for my trip to Flanders

They do have more grip than the ProRace3 for instance so may help you (me) not slip the back wheel out as easily if the cobbled climbs are wet

I reckon afterwards they'll make a decent tyre for potentially wet sportives etc. Even though the surface rubber may cut a bit that doesnt mean to say it'll get past the pncture protection. Not sure I'd commute into Manchester city centre on £40 tyres.

I got them off Wiggle about 3 weeks ago and they were significantly cheaper than the link above or anywhere else I could find on the web (about £27.50 each), I suspect they've put them back up as we get closer to Flanders

    Thanks, chaps.

After this morning's outlay, the expected outlay next week, and the fact that I've just bought new wheels for Flanders (which the good lady doesn't exactly know about), I may restrict myself to Gatorskins for the commute and Flanders. I may need to splash out for Mother's Day if I'm to get Flanders-specific tyres.

Slow - my fat a&rse should ensure the back wheel stays firmly on the ground on the climbs. It's that's long cobbled stretch and that descent I'm more concerned about if it's wet.
