On the timtoo.com site it says Mt ventoux and Alpe D'huez are equipped with timing facilities. Unfortunately the site is in french and only has an itialian translation option!
Anyone know how much the chips are to hire, and where you get them from, or do you have to buy a chip from Timtoo? (€36 i think according to the site)

Try the Bourg D'Osian tourist info site. It used to be on it.
Timtoo Timing chip automatically records your time when you pass by. On the Internet site timtoo.com you can check your performance, update every hour. These chips are available from April at Alpe d’Huez Office of Tourism.
