So since new year I've been back on the training to try and get back into some of my previous high level of fitness but it just seems one thing after another is stopping me or getting in the way!
First off I'm really struggling with a back problem which yesterday saw me crippled, lying on the floor in total agony, then I today tried to keep going and do a bit of spinning on the turbo as the doc told me to. So I jumped on the TT bike and the front fu##ing derailleur went all t!ts up on me. So then I tried changing up to the road bike only to see that the chain needed a good clean. This seemed forever as I couldn't get the missing link off for ages.
Little things like this seem to be adding up every bl00dy day causing setback after setback.
As I write this I'm feeling pretty well down and de-motivated. I need a kick up the ar5s big style. I'm even struggling to get to club runs and training rides. Working 10 hours a day in a job I despise doesn't help much either. By the time I get home, sort out my pooch, the day seems to be ending!
I know I need to MTFU big style but I'm just struggling to get going!!!
Anyway, my rather disjointed, pointless, blethering rant is over
Drew Out!!!

Sucks that you're feeling sucky. I'd try mixing in other forms of exercise that were easier on my back (e.g. swimming) until it felt better. I wouldn't want to be on the bike very long with that sort of injury. Any other activites you can do to release some angst while you gradually increase the mileage?
As for the job, life's too short. Start a turtle farm in Costa Rica and let the sun disolve your worries.0
