Superstar pads?

hello!!
I could do with some new pads for my juicy 5s soon and found these on ebay:
http://superstar.tibolts.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=29
Seem cheap at £20 for 4 pairs where most i've seen on crc are £15 for one pair. Is this because the standard one are way over priced or is it just that you get what you pay for and that they are cheap for a reason (that they suck ).
Has anyone used them before? if so, what are they like in terms of power, feel, life etc etc?
Cheers,
Ben

I am using them on both my bikes at the moment and so far they have been fine. They have good power they dont squeal and they are lasting okay. I dont think they will last as long as the original pads but they are a third of the price.
The best thing is if you dont like them send them back in the original packet and you get your money back how can you lose.Fig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0 -
Yep, I use them. Had no problems personally, there are reports of the backing coming away from the braking surface, but think this has pretty much been eliminated. :?:
Like you say, for £5 a set, they can afford to not last quite as long, and you can carry a spare set too.Boardman Road Comp '08

Just bought 2 pairs for £12 for my Giant and so far they've work really well every bit as good as the originals that they've replaced.'Hello to Jason Isaacs'0

I'm using them in my XTs, had the Tektro superstar pads before... They've been great, wear a wee bit faster than standard but then they cost about 20% as much so, can't complain. They do have a bad rep for reliability- pads falling apart- which seems to be fairly deserved, but even if 1/4 pads randomly dissolves they're still a great deal.Uncompromising extremist0

Thanks for the quick replies chaps! If they are good for that price i have to give them ago and see how i get on. Even if they don't last quite as long as the standards thay cost much less so guess i can't lose.Bikes are OK, I guess... :-)

go for the superstar sintered pads. they last much longer for only a few quid more. if they dont list them on ebay they will have them on their site. the standard pads wear hideously quick in bad weatherViner Salviati

I dont have them on any of my bikes, but had a shot of a friends bike at the weekend and the sintered ones are very impressive. Will be purchasing them myself when my XT ones give up!!Orange St4-Reba SL-FullXT0
