Best places to ride in leicestershire for 2 newbies ..

my wife and i will be picking up 2 commencal disc bikes this weekend and we would
be gratefull if anyone can recommend the best place to start to really get us into the swing of things ....would you recomemend going on the skills courses at cannock ??
we are both completely new to biking although our general fitness is good and the
adrenaline rush which comes from MTB is very appealing although we are realistic to know it may take some time to get the confidence up .....
any recomendations would be great . we are based in Ibstock so any routes around
here would be great but would travel to a dedicatde course if it adds more excitement !
