I've no idea about Pinnacle bikes, but what is your budget if it's not too rude a question.

I would not want you to base any purchase upon anything I may say.

There are loads of bikes in that price range which are decent and you could get a little gem if you were to consider a used bike. There are still sale bikes on offer if you're fortunate enough to get one in your size. My advice would be, don't get a fixation about a particular make of cycle try a few that take your fancy.

All the best in your search mate.

to be honest, I always think that the pinnacle range looks very overpriced - they seem to price them as if 'pinnacle' has some massive brand premium but I don't think it has that either.

if I were you I'd be looking for the usual suspects - specialized allez, giant SCR/ defy, trek 1.2 etc etc = the boardman range seems well thought of too.

in terms of value the focus range do well from wiggle as do brands like 'cube' who seem to put well designed and specified bikes together for a decent price.

I agree with Frank, get out and try as many as you can. However I have just purchased a Pinnacle Lagerra 1.0 from Evans cycles and I love it. I went to look at it because it was a good deal IMO (£650 down from £900) and fell in love with it after riding it as the riding position is more upright then the other bikes I had ridden. Here's a link to my post asking about Pinnacle cycles, hope it helps:

It does say in the post the Pinnacle has a lifetime frame warranty, but on asking in the shop found out they actually have a 5 year warranty.

Scrap that about warranty - have just been on Pinnacle's website and they do have a lifetime warranty on their frames (apart from jump bikes). It's good to know that Evans cycles know about their own brand.

I was in your position a couple of weeks ago and I purchased a Python RX3. I have found this bike to be excellent and for the money - the spec is pretty good too!

If you can track one down, I'd seriously take one on a test ride.

If you've got a Halfords near you and they've got any left, check out this bike, it's very good value for £499.

Just to let you know the paintwork around the dropouts on the Pinnacle Lagerra 1.0 I bought a couple of weeks has started to flake off (not wearing away where the lock nut on the hub comes in contact with the frame, but actually flaking off). I am in discussion with Evans at the mo about my options but considering sending it back for a refund
