Starts Wednesday. 7 stages in total, including a steep (but relatively short) uphill finish on stage 4, and a 30km TT on stage 5.

Previews / startlists etc:

http://www.gazzetta.it/grandeciclismo/t ... home.shtml (confusing website, but the "Miss Tirreno-Adriatico" section looks... er, interesting)

http://startlist.cyclingfever.com/start ... t&id=19135

http://cyclingnews.com/road/2009/mar09/tirreno09/

Startlists are still quite sketchy atm.

Looking again, the "steep (but relatively short) uphill finish" is the same one they used last year when Joaquim Rodriguez won the stage... it's really steep:

One of the mags think it may have been pro cycling had a suberb photo of that hill last year , riders scattered all over the road and it did indeed look very steep.

MG, you need the actual file name, so the link above doesn't work but http://www.cyclingnews.com/photos/2008/ ... 1_full.jpg does. Put in side the .gif etc. Here's another that suggests how hard it is, some pros are forced to walk and those on their bikes are in agony. I hope the mechanics fit some low gears this time...bettiniphoto_0024544_1_full.jpg

I'll go for Andy Schleck for the GC but I think I'll try to wait for some better details on the startlists before predicting stage winners.

Fecker was supposed to win me the Paris-Nice prologue. Then decides to do this one instead. Pah!
