Decent bike hire in Manchester?

A friend is over from the US for a couple of weeks and wants to hire a fairly decent level road bike. She will be in Manchester from Wednesday so wants to be able to hire something from there.

Does anyone know of anywhere to check out?

    Try Bicycle Boutique - next to Sugden Sports Centre behind Man Met's Student Union (located at the back of Sandbar). They hire bikes out - worth a quick phone call to see what they have - unlikely to be the latest kit - may have an older half decent machine.

    Other option is Bicycle Doctor in Rusholme - worth a bell !

    What about this one...
    The-Bike-Barn, it is located on Rifle Road, between Sale and Chorlton Water Park, on the grounds of Jackson's Boat Pub.
    They offer mostly mountain bikes, but you can also get road bikes there.
    It's ideal for everyone who don't like busy traffic roads as from their place you can reach miles of non traffic routes.
    Small, but well organised place. Another advantage is that there's a pub just on the side.
    So you can have a meal or a drink before or after renting.
    You can also get a discount on booking online, which for me it's a faster and much easier option.
    + facilities such as car park and toilets for customers!!!
