Swisstop vs Campagnolo brake pads

I've not had much to do with road brake pads but prices seem a bit on the high side compared to mtb disc brake pads.
I'm using 2009 Centaur brakes at the moment with the original pads still in use which do seem very positive and stop me well.
Are swisstop any better and what justifies the very high price?
Would I be better off sticking with Campag pads when these wear out?
Rim wise I'm using DT 1.1 and soon using Ambrosio Excellight ssc's.

I found campag pads to be more than adequate on alu rims. The Swisstop yellows however, are streets ahead of anything else when it comes to carbon rims. So, if you say you are happy with the original pads performance, then I'd stick with them, especially if they are cheaper. I'm not sure there is much to be gained in switching.0

I made the move from Centaur to green swiss stops and def saw an improvement. They are particularly good in the wet.0

I went from Campag to Koolstop dual compound pads which are a bit cheaper than Swissstop. It was the best value upgrade I've made on a bike. Braking has more 'feel', and there doesn't seem to be as much brake debris left on the rims. They also wear very well!0

I went from Centaur to green Swissstops and braking improved.
I have found that the harder compound in the Swissstops picks up far more rubbish and need cleaning all the time to stop them gouging the wheels. I am not going to buy the Swissstops again.0 -
