Me and my mates have done this ride today and i just wanted to say if any of you are thinking about doing this ride you should seriously consider doing it the opposite way to what is featured in the magazine, it will ride a hell of a lot better this way as most of the climbing we did today was near on impossible, but would of made fantastic decents and apart from 2 good decents a lot of height was lost on tarmac which is never a good thing

I thought it was part of the sport to send the mags great routes but telling them to do them in reverse, just to see if they actually road them before they printed it

most mbr routes are better t`other way round. The guys who "lead"/send in these rides are always looking to show how "hard/good" a rider they are. imo ofcourse.
Having ridden most of that route a few times as part of other rides I would agree with Timberjack. Thats what I`ll be doing next Mon. The only decent dh bit is through the quarry off Walna down to Torver. But then you have to climb what would be the best descent the other way, up Parka Moor???? Why???? Just cause they can????

timberjack ... next time start at Conniston or Torver. Ride up the BW from Torver to the WS road and then up`n over. Do not go all the way to the bottom. Turn left off the WS road through the old mine works onto (I think..Stephenson Ground)and head towards Broughton Wood. Then take the track alongside the beck. Then head right over the moor for lunch in the New ??? Inn @ Seathwaite. Up the road a bit and onto the Walna Scar road again for a bit of a hike to the top before blasting all the way back down to Conniston/Torver.

18mls ish of magic. May not be long in distance but allow all day
