Release Veloce Ergopower clamp
Hi,
I need to release the bolt that tightens the band clamping the Veloce Ergopower lever to the bars. These are the current Veloce levers as currently listed on the campag website.
I've found the bolt, as far as I can tell from the instructions, peeling back the hood covering but it appears almost impossible to get an alum key to it, let alone a torque wrench as per the instructions.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Steve

It can be a bit of a fiddle to seat the Allen key in the bolt head, but is easily do-able once you get the hang. You won't need a torque wrench to undo the bolt, and I have never bothered with one when re-tightening (in common with 99.9% of cyclists, I suspect).0

A screwdriver set (ratchet or standard, take your pick) which includes a selection of allen bits is just the thing for a job like this, as the shape is less awkward to use on the Ergo levers than a normal key.

If it's a 2009 Ergo, they now use Torx bits rather than a 5mm Hex key. Don't over-tighten as this means that if you crash, the lever moves rather than taking the impact - even more important if using carbon bars too.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Thanks for the replies guys.
It is 2009 Ergo as far as I know, and it definitely isn't a hex key. I couldn't think what the thing was called - thanks Monty, you've given me the answer! No carbon bars yet, but learnt not to over tighten stacking it a few times on my cross bike!
I'm not going to bother with a torque wrench, and I already have a small screwdriver set but I can't yet work out how I could get such a tool in to position. I'll have another look this weekend.
cheers,
Steve0
