need a new bike

hi all

getting back to mountain biking after a several year lay off and need a new full suspension. i've got approx £1000 to spend i'm looking to spend it on an all purpose steed (not sure of the correct terminology - trail, all mountain??)

have looked at the prophet 2 which seems to get good reviews but stock seems to be limited. have got the chance to het a brand new 2008 scott genius 30 for £1199 which seems good value for the spec but can't find any reviews of this model.

any advice welcome
