What tyres and what cables?

I need a new pair of tyres and wanted peoples advice on what to go for. I do mainly cross country and its pretty boggy at the moment with a fair bit of mud. My current tyres are terrible.

Also i need a new cable set for my XT gearset. Would people just go for another set of XT/XTR gear cables or look at things like nokon cables?

    For those conditions I use Schwalbe Nobby Nic tyres. For drier conditions in the summer I change them to Racing Ralphs.

    Panaracer Trailraker on the rear, 2.1, quite narrow, very aggressive blocky tread, digs right through the mud. I'm running High Rollers up front, seem ok. Just swap the Trailraker out for something faster rolling in the summer.

    Cablewise, after spending a fortune on premium grade outers I've gone back to Shimano SP41 bog standard stuff. Seems to work fine and at the price of it (buy it by the metre not pre-cut) I don't mind re-cabling fairly regularly.
    It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
