Cycling Gods Against Me

So far this year they seem to be against me. I just cannot get into any rhythm so far. Whether its illness or other things I seem to get out one week then something comes ups and ruins the next week or two.
Perfect example 2 weeks ago I did a nice ride to St Albans and back and I though i'll extend it next week. Sod's law last weekend my health complaint raised it's ugly head which meant no way could I ride. So today I go out and 4 mile into it my ride something in my right calf goes. Not a pain but something not right. As soon as I put any power down or got up off my saddle and onto the pedals it just stopped me from getting any power down :x
In order to spare any further injury and a long lay off I turned back

ouch,
I was knocked for 6 by a "flu like virus" at the start of February, 2 and a half weeks off work, another 2 weeks till my voice returned and started to feel normal, now 2 weeks later I've had a sore throat and now a cough that doesn't like above normal breathing.
A mate had someone drive through him at a junction, amazingly his Yamaha managed to get no more than a broke mudguard and him a broken foot. He finally gets off the crutches and a bouncer goes and shuts his hand in a door breaking a finger and mushing it up quite badly.
It's the 10 weeks he's been on SSP and not able to do work at college that's getting to him.Do Nellyphants count?

You're praying to the wrong gods, NWLondoner. Try one of the wind gods.
More seriously, take it easy for a while. There's no point in rushing things and maybe doing more, or more permanent, damage. I've always found that a break from cycling's made me appreciate it all the more when I've got back in the saddle.A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject - Churchill0 -
I agree it would be counter productive to rush things. Many of us have had an unwanted enforced break in the last few months what with flu , ice , etc and know just how frustrating that can be.
Just hang on in there
