What would be the best tyre for XC racing? Need to be able to handle a bit of the muddy stuff too.

I have racing ralphs and nobby nic, any thing better; im thinking anything faster rolling, or lighter maybe???

Cheers

no solid answer, we all like different tyres.

Try the Conti race King though.

Conti Race Kings are very like the Racing Ralphs to be honest, both very low tread for dry summer, they just spin around in mud :(

I'd get a couple of sets, 2 dry tyres, 2 wet tyres. 2x Nics, 2x Ralphs in the case of Schwalbe, most brands will have an equivilent though. Pick a combination based on the track and weather, ranging from 2x Nics in the mud, 2x Ralphs in the dry to the standard Nic + Ralph for normal conditions.

Alternate which gets used as the rear tyre as well to balance out the wear a bit.
