Anyone had any experience with these? Worth paying double the cost of a normal tube?

I got some off ebay so far so good, only done about 150 miles on them though.
Oh and if you and your bike are light they can upset the balance a bit, when i've got my bike on the workstand when the back wheel is spinning the whole thing bounces up and down.
Oh and they don't do long valves
Oh and you can't repair them
Thinking about it I don't think i'm going to get any moreSaracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame

I understand from a colleague that they sometimes set the wheel out of balance...
I have no experience to offer!0 -
The slime can set the wheel out of balance as LiT says. Effectively they come filled with a thick gloopy slime like liquid which fills any hole when the tube is punctured, but can have a weird effect on light wheels. They don't work for pinch flats though, and spurt the liquid everywhere. I'd also stay clear of the anti puncture strips that slime do, they're prone to ripping the inner tube apart.
Try one of the lighter liquid latex solutions if you want to puncture proof a tube, they should have less of an effect on the wheel.pain is temporary, the glory of beating your mates to the top of the hill lasts forever.....................

The slime isn't that thick on the pre filled ones i didn't follow the instructions properly first time and it sprayed everywhere.
I wouldn't bother unless you're plagued by thorns.Saracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame

Great for thorn type fairy attacks but 100% fail against pinch flats. Personaly I don't find them much use0

I noticed the off balance thing when I first fitted the tubes but only when I spun the wheel whilst holding the bike off the ground. It would appear that after a few revolutions, the slime distributes itself around the wheel and it's no longer a problem. It was a bit like when you've got one of those spoke mounted reflectors, maybe a little worse.
Can't comment on the p**ct*re resistance though, only done about 100 miles on them so far. But this has been on Conti Sport Contact, which I've been told are prone to, err, visits. Anyone else heard this?0 -
I heard that about sport contacts but yesterday i ran straight over a rusty filling knife no problem.
You must have the same set up as me 23mm sport contacts and slime tubes 150 miles all good so far. I've got some gatorskins in the garage when I fit them i'll be impervious to fairy attack.Saracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame

I guess they're mainly for off-road use, only any good for thorns and stuff.Pictures are better than words because some words are big and hard to understand.

Not quite, got the 26x1.6 Sport Contacts on my Trek. I do have 700x25mm GatorSkins on my Allez (but with normal tubes) and have been impressed so far. Done about 300 miles on them. But they do like to pick up small stones.0 -
Picked up some Slime tubes in a shop and quickly put them back- far too heavy unless you get punctures pretty much on a daily basis I'd say.0

I'd thought about the All Condition Pro's but heard that the ride quality is quite harsh. How have you found it?0 -

and only light stuff, as can't cope with pinch flats etc, hence the intrest in tubeless etc.0 -
I tried slime on my MTB after dozens of thorn punctures all I got for my trouble was low/high speed wobble and lots of green slime oozing from the puncture holes
Edit: don't be tempted to drink the slimeRule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
