Local Bikeshop Workshop Charges

Hi Excuse my ignorance but does anyone know how an LBS Charges for time in their workshop? I work in the motorcycle industry and we charge by the hour is it the same for a cycle shop or would they normally charge by the job?

Normally fixed charges per job + cost of parts (e.g. £5 to fix a puncture, excluding inner tube)
