I ordered a couple of inner tubes off fleabay to keep as spares on my commute. I've changed the MTB tyres to 1.0 inch slicks. The tubes I have are 26 x 1.0. the tubes I ordered were 26 x 1.0. The tubes that arrived are 26 x 1.25 - 1.5. Is there any problem putting these tubes in 1.0 tyres or should I really stick to 1.0 inch tubes.
I've tried Sheldon Browns site and Zinns book but can't find an answer.
Any advice gratefully accepted before I contact the seller and appear clueless....

You could use them and they would work without too much of a problem but they would be a little more difficult to mount a tyre over without accidently pinching the tube with levers. Possibly a little more prone to pinch flats. Kind of like trying to pinch the stomach of a very skinny person as opposed to pinching a flabby one. If you have no alternative use them but better to get the right size.
  • Agree with cranky.
But if you feel uneasy then contact the supplier and tell em they got the order wrong, and didn't send you what you asked for.

Just check to make sure that 26 x 1.0. tubes are generally available. If they are then you have been sent what suits your supplier, and not what you ordered.

Nothing clueless about that matey!
