Rub your shorts on the rest, ideally while not wearing them.
WD40 rubbed on with a soft cloth can make things look quite sparkley and new on a more serious note, it stops dirt sticking too, failing that it'll need something more hardcore.0 -

I use GT85 (has a use for EVERYTHING!!!) to restore/protect paintwork.
In my eyes worth it's weight in gold!

hear good things about this stuff, Autoglym Super Resin Polish. it's meant for cars but should be alright on bike paintwork i guess? on the car forums i read to leave it dry for an hour or so then polish off for more protection.0

i love my shed when it stinks of GT85. but any other time i hate the wet, cold and falling apart heep of s*it0 -
You can use car polish. The paint on the on my Shocker faded, gave it the once over with Turtle Wax Car Polish and it came up like new, it's faded again now though.
I found Bike Spray stopped the fade for quite a while, but you probably need Helicopter tape or something to do a perminant job.
Personaly though, I like that "used" look.0 -
FS 365 from scottoiler is brilliant I got given a free bottle last year and it gives my bikes a lovely shine that makes the mud slide off
GT 85 is brilliant stuff but I must be the only one who thinks it absolutely honksFig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0 -
mr sheen here it does the job alright but i'm gonna try that autoglym stuff to bring that new bike look back, hopefully.0

yeah I use it for Car, scooters and bikes...just apply carefully as getting it in cracks and gaps etc is a pain as it drys white and is really noticable..
and a wipe down witha gt85 soaked cloth works a treat aswell0 -
Another for WD40, on a piece of kitchen towel. Is that a +1???
Hides the tiny scratches on my black Cotic Soul and makes it nice and shiney0 -
Plenty of car products in Halfrauds to try or if your feeling flush Zymol Royale Wax

Some of the finer T-Cut stuff is pretty good too. If it's paint, you need to take the dirty and scratched (as thats what it is) paint off. Even though it might not look scratched, it is, which is why it's dull and not shiny. The more perfect the surface, the shinier

T-cut the scratches out and then apply a good quality car polish to bring the shine back and add protection from it happening again.0

this happened to me on my aggressor xc2, the top tube is a king of matt grey, not nice! iv found that car wax can help make it look a bit better, also try a bit of TF2.I like bikes and stuff0 -

ive only had the bike since last sept, done about 350 miles on it.....so dont think her indoors will let me get a new ride just yet
thanks for all the tips anyway, think ill give the t-cut and car polish ago,if that dont work ill try some of the other things ppl have said............mind you,by the time ive finished buying all these products it would prob be cheaper to either A>get a new ride or B>get it re-sprayed..........0 -
it would probably be cheaper to buy the Pedros bike lust, designed for bikes. Not something designed for cars LOL :oops:0

MMMmmmm>pedros bike lust,is he greek by any chance..... :oops:0 -
T-cut's not very good, you can get good results with it but only if you know what you're doing. If you want to give it a permanent fix rather than just covering it up with something shiny, try farecla, G3 for taking out big marks, G10 for finer stuff. And the Halfords rubbing compound that comes in an aerosol is a superb finishing product.
Or, don't bother since it'll happen again anyway All my bikes are a bit ratty, just fire on the bike spray and ride.Uncompromising extremist0 -
These are just quick fixes, am i not right in thinking that frames are powder coated ? It will need re elecroing if it is, this is what makes the powder coat "shine"0

Some frames are powdercoated, but not all that many. Higher end ones mainly.Uncompromising extremist0
