calais to ninove (Belgium)

Fancy going to see the Tour of Flanders this year but am strapped for cash for hotels and transport. So considering ferry to calais and cycling to Ninove, can anyone recommend a route avoiding heavy traffic and if it is possible to take bike into rooms in formula 1 or the other cheapish hotels in France\Belgium. alternative to hotels is camping which I have never done before, is it advisable for newbie to try this. My bike is a standard road bike but I plan to travel light as possible as it is only for a couple of days three at most.

    The ViaMichelin website has a facility for planning cycle-friendly routes. Haven't use it myself but other people seem to have had good results.
