At a risk of fuelling someones ire, that retro clothing firm Ra**a are having a sportive in Blackpool on 1/8/09 Entry is £30.50. I'd love to be there, clad in the firms finest but I shall be riding elsewhere that w/end.

    Blackpool and Rapha. I tjhought Rapha was supposed to be classy?

    The sportive is however the 'Rapha Condor Sportive', i.e. associated with the bike racing team which happens to be sponsored by the aforesaid clothing company, and associated with the Blackpool Nocturne.

    So who's organising it/paying for it - can't see the bike team paying for it, so Face partnership who organise the Nocturne series ? Blackpool council/NorthWest Development Agency/etc ? dunno...

    £30.50 breaches my price threshold though and with Blackpool having a chunk of flat Fylde before you get near any North Lancs fells, I can't see it being that challenging either...

    ...let alone being the day before the Pendle Pedal, which sounds a right calendar clash !

    I was up for this but Im doing the 100mile Pendle Pedal the next day!!

    There is only 1 winner there, the Pendal Pedal is must, it is that good!!
