Well the rig has returned and the fork seems to be working fine . The rear axle has made my bike alot heavier but i feel alot more stiffer and the new tyres feel very lizardy in touch (i keep pet turtles) and the fork appears to be functioning well Just hope it'll stay fine for this season

Well I did go marzocchi for the following reasons :

At the 2008 London Cycleshow , the Windwave representatives assured me that the 2009 forks had the 08 issues such as ata windown and defective tst2 carts"fixed"

They were the ones I could afford at that time and I had no issues with with my 2008 bomber rs from my ransom which were simple and reliable but a bit heavy

Ransoms 30 to 10 had the fork proceeding it so if it was fit for them it would be fit for my 40

Guess I should have taken a 2nd look at those 07 lyric coils now

My LBS have ditched 'Zocchi because of issues with reliability.

I've just swapped my XC600TST2's out for coil Pikes because they weren't very good.

Anyone want to buy them?

It'll take alot of convincing to get me off Fox suspension. I tried lots of demo bikes at the chase and floats came out the best for me on that coarse. Not downhil though so maybe some other kit is better for that. Pikes seemed average on the Santa Cruz Heckler I rode, prefered Fox Foats for sure on the XC trails. Maybe it wasnt the best situation for the Pikes to shine though.
  • What's happened to Marzocchi? They used to be ace! Had some Z1s and Jr Ts a few years back and they were faultless. Have moved onto to Fox stuff now. Am glad I did. Aren't Marzocchi forks made by RST or Suntour or someone crap now. Says it all. Marzocchi have been tarred with the 'don't touch' brush now for me.

we don't sell Marzocchi forks anymore, after too much grief during 2008, both with aftermarket forks, and forks on complete bikes like the Specialized SX Trail I

the law says that the goods have to be fit for purpose when sold, and that the retailer is entitled to make a repair in reasonable time, the sale contract is between you and the retailer, never between you and the product's distributor as distributors generally don't sell direct to the public

if the retailer has failed to make this repair in a reasonable timeframe (i.e. 1 month) or the same problem has occured again after they have already made a repair...

....then you are legally entitled to a refund, and it is then up to the retailer to seek compensation for their loss from the distributor that sold them the duff product

any excuses that a steerer has been cut is BS, and if the retailer cannot get the distributor to ship them the parts or your fork is sitting at the distributors waiting for parts, then its their problem to sort out after refunding you, or offering you a similar product from another company

The cheaper ones are made by Suntour, but the reliability problems are design not production.

When i sent my Zocchis back to windwave in 2007 due to a loose feeling guess what they found?!

"We initially checked the forks out in our workshop and it seems like the
bottom bushes are missing internally. These where sent back on the 16//03/07
(Friday) to Windwave, the UK Marzocchi importer and I would expect this one
to be resolved in the next 2-3 working days."

Rockshox for me since then 8)
