Online Shopping Experience -Riders Poll

Who is the best online bike/accessory retailer?
I would have liked to include every bike shop that sells online but these days thats just too many.
These are not necessarily the biggest or best just a selection of advertisers in MBUK, WMB magazines and "household" names in the bike world.
There are many different criteria that could be applied to a poll like this but i would like you all to vote based on Overall Experience.
Don't vote simply because you got a good deal unless that is the overall deciding factor but try to base your vote on the overall buying experience. Taking into account price, quick delivery, customer service, going the extra mile, how they responded if something went wrong, after sale care or service, communication etc. etc.
Who in your opinion is the BEST of the online bike world. Who would you be most happy to go back to time after time.
I understand that problems can always occur - late delivery, items out of stock, poor communication, items arriving in the incorrect state and mistakes do happen.
Who gets it right for you consistently and which one of these companies would you not want to be without?
Sorry if I missed anyone companies out and sorry if this has been done before.

Definatly CRC for me, mainly due to the delivery times and prices.
I have never had any problems with purchases so no need to mail them in that respect but i have asked them questions on stock / sizing e.t.c and they have responded very quickly.
Delivery is usualy within 2 days of ordering, was once 6 days but i still cant complain at that.
All in all a fantastic company with some of the cheapest prices.
Id also give good works to Wiggle and Merlin for prices and service.

I haven't bought from all of the shops, so cannot make a comparison. You may be better off trying to figure out the ratio of good experiences to bad for each shop, rather than asking 'who is best?'0

OK...
suggestions for stores that should be entered into the poll for UK's worst online bike shops?
I wasn't aware there was a limit to the number of options and I had a few more above but it wouldn't process the post.
I think the limit is 8.
Dave Hinde and Bonthrone occupy two slots as I suspect they may win hands down?0 -

Having ordered at least 50 items from both CRC and Wiggle I've got to say Wiggle always seem to deliver next day, CRC about just over half the time to be fair. Wiggle also have a far far better returns system, you can log in and choose what to return and what you want done rather than the print out a returns form thing you get on CRC. So, if the item I want is on both sites at similar price I use Wiggle every time.
There are some great deals to be had on Merlin and JE James in particular too, sometimes really discounted loads, JE James website isn't very easy to find stuff on though.0 -
Could have voted for CRC but have had great deals & excellent service from Merlin recently so voted for them.
I like Wiggle, just hate their carrier as driving 15 miles to pick after they deliver when I'm out just pees me off.

I voted Wiggle, but I've always had great service from Merlin and CRC too. But Wiggle have a great selection, good prices, and a very good website, they're better about notifying you of stock issues than CRC, it's generally easier to shop with them I find. And their free postage is as fast as many places' expensive postage.Uncompromising extremist0

Can't fault wiggle, excellent service! Have used a few of the others and also had no complaints, although merlin never seem to respond to email which is irritating0

I've used Wiggle, CRC, Merlin and BikeTart and can't really fault any of them so far.
Wiggle were great when I ordered 2 products, one of which was out of stock - I got the first one straight away and then they kept me fully updated until I received the second.0 -
Not had any problems with any of those but my favourite is CRC. Wiggle pretend they know what's going on with your back order but the truth is they've placed an order with the importer and that's all. Merlin always seem too busy and just say 'yes yes yes' to everything. Winstanleys are great once you get to know them.
The golden rule with all these places is:
never order something that's not in stock.0 -
Personally I like using CRC. Nice easy to view website, good categorisation, easy functional checkout. They have always delivered on time and I've had no problems with delivery times or quality of product.
Sometimes I find they are less competitive on some items but I guess these things are constantly changing anyway.
They are easy to get on the phone too with no bullshit answers.
Wiggle haven't let me down either but on a whole CRC get my vote0 -
only used CRC, Wiggle and Merlin...
I chose merlin as they are the only ones i havn't had any issues with....in fairness, I havn't had any real issues with the others either, just every time i order from merlin it arrives within 2 days.Whenever I see an adult on a bicycle, I believe in the future of the human race.

I've used all of them excpet Leisure Lakes and JE James. Fastest deliveries for late orders ahve been merlin and Pedalon where I usualy get stuff the next day - even when I ordered in the afternoon. Wiggle and CRC have usually been a bit slower than these 2, but not so I would complain. Winstanleys and Evans slightly slower again. All in all I've never had any complaints about any of the companies I've used and would be hapy to use any/all of them again, touch wood.
Sod's law now dictates an imminent disaster on the delivery front :?You don't need eyes to see, you need vision0
