Mudguards and knobblies

Does anybody have any suggestions on mudguards that can be fitted on a 26" wheel MTB with knobblies?
I normally use smooth tyres, but switch to knobblies to cope with snow. Unfortunately my last set of mudguards wasn't *quite* big enough to fit around the tyres (I thought they did, but my next 2 commutes proved otherwise).
So, are there mudguards that I can leave on all year, regardless of the tyre, or will I have to resort to taking them off for the worst of the winter?

the width is the issue, crud catchers work well, but not as well as fully enclosed ones
I'll have a look in my lbs tomorrow and see what people say.0 -
SKS make a range of Chromoplastic mudguards up to 60mm width (the P65's), which will fit up to 2.3 knobblies as will the slightly narrower P55's. They are the best mudguards available and will give full protection.0
