Which bit of clothing next?

As you can't always get what you want I'm limiting myself to one new bit of clothing. The choice is a gillet, a lightweight and foldable rain cape, or a set of arm & leg warmers.
What will I get maximum use or benifit from, from now to the end of spring?
Cheers for any thoughts.

Why not? My bikes.

Buy the lightweight foldable rain thingy. If you don't get on with it, send it to me, cos I need one.
But I'd say that's the essential, the others are nice to haves.0 -
Waterproof gilet, so nice in the rain.
I have two though0 -
Arm and legs.
If you race you'll most likely not use the cape in a race.
Training wise - I have not donned a waterproof since before Xmas.
You'll get much more use out of arms and legs.0 -
It does rain a lot here in N. Devon, but I'm honestly unlikely to go out if it's sheeting down like today. As the temps went up to 10deg last week I was sweating a lot in my waterproof jacket, and it's windy here too and the jacket's too loose really.
If you wear a rain cape in milder weather do they make you sweat a lot more than a gillet?
I don't race, but am doing sportives this year. :?Why not? My bikes.

gillet - most useful piece of kit ever (especially in the UK!)
arm and leg warmers never stay in place - i reckon you always know beforehand if you need short or long sleeves/legsregards,

Gillet - although mines got a mesh back which may be cool when things get a bit sweaty but may not be so good in the rain (I'll find out on my way home by the looks of it )0

Gillet, I'd say. But having said that I've worn my leg warmers a few times this year already but neither of my gillets.
Our great British weather aye. :roll:Tail end Charlie

I'm going for gillet too, they always fold up really small as well when it gets to warm0
-
you could get a jacket with removable sleeves and you got a gillet too, practical or what lol0

Decided on a gilet, thanks. Now got to choose from the 100's available. Makes my head hurt. :roll:Why not? My bikes.

Look out for the Montane Velo gillet - folds down to the size of a tennis ball & comes in a bag with a velcro so you can strap it to your stem. I think chain reaction have them on a good offer0

i recommend one with windtex front and a mesh back. they fold down really small but i find that i either wear it or i don't. not many occasions where adjusting the zip doesn't give enough temperature regulationregards,
